New Orleans has always embraced those who are passionate about what they do. Those who take initiative. Those who take the extra time and energy to do things the right way rather than the easy way. The Bartlett and Dodge families, who started French Market Coffee in 1890, were exactly such people. There, in New Orleans’ bustling French Market, they sold the first cans of their rich, carefully roasted coffee. Then, like now, the French Market brought together an inspiring group of entrepreneurs, artists, and musicians all of whom were as deeply passionate about their work as we are about ours.
Although a few things have changed since we began roasting and blending coffee in 1890, our dedication to perfection remains the same. We continue to roast the choicest Arabica beans and specially blend them to create classic New Orleans coffees, right here in the city we call home. The French Market Coffee brand has long been a beloved part of our city’s culinary heritage – and that’s a bold, rich tradition that we’re proud to uphold.
